Tiffany Deal, RYT 300

tiffany_rosenfeld_dealAlthough Tiffany didn’t move to Des Moines until she was 16, she proudly considers herself an Iowa native. After graduating from the University of Iowa, Tiffany earned her Masters in Social Work from Simmons College in Boston where she couldn’t help but become an avid Red Sox fan. For a change of pace, she and her husband, Morgan, moved to Denver for a bit before finally settling down again in Iowa. During her time in Denver, Tiffany worked in geriatric social work and continued her education by completing post graduate work in positive psychology and life coaching. Upon moving back to Iowa, she and Morgan had two fabulous boys, and it was at that time that she became interested in yoga. She had the privilege to work with Sandi in her amazing prenatal yoga classes and discovered that yoga helped get back into the groove of things and reduce stress. Fast forward a few years and after taking more and more classes at the Family Tree, Tiffany finally listened to Sandi and furthered her yoga education by completing the Roots Prenatal™ Yoga Training in 2012 and became a certified Roots Prenatal™ Yoga Instructor. In addition, she took part in James Miller’s Teacher Training in 2012 and is a now a 300 hour Registered Yoga Teacher and Wellness Coach. She is so excited to share all of the fun she has had over the years learning about yoga from her truly amazing teachers and very much looks forward to meeting so many of you in her classes!

Nicole Stessman, DC

RobertaStessman_photo_295x368Nicole is originally from Dunlap, a quaint little Iowa town. She went to college at Simpson in Indianola, followed by Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport Iowa. After spending a year in a Chicago suburb she landed closer to home in Des Moines. She absolutely loves the small town community feel Des Moines provides, while having plenty of opportunities for fun. Nicole met Sandi when she was looking for more opportunities to complement chiropractic care through pregnancy. Excitedly she enrolled in the spring 2014 teacher training with Sandi, graduated a Roots Prenatal™ Yoga Instructor, and is beyond elated to share yoga with expectant mommas!

Christy Dopf, Roots Office Manager

ChristyDopfChristy is originally from SE Iowa, and although she didn’t grow up with yoga, she was always very active in dance and sports. She graduated with a Masters of Science from the University of Iowa, where she met her husband, Bob. They moved to Des Moines in 2009, where she began to take yoga classes around the city. After seeing the movie The Business of Being Born, she became a self described “birth junkie”. Thus a real passion and calling was born to learn more about pregnancy, birth, and parenting.

Christy began taking Sandi’s Roots Prenatal Yoga class during her pregnancy throughout 2014. After the birth of her son Nile, she decided to stay home with him full time. She took the opportunity to learn more yoga and also become involved with the wonderful birth community of Central Iowa. She graduated from the Roots Prenatal Yoga Teacher training in early 2015, and is ecstatic to now teach prenatal yoga to pregnant women. Christy also brings a personal passion of making yoga accessible for yoga students with physical limitations and hopes to continue her training in therapeutic yoga in the future.
